Wrapping Up Tudo Djunto: Reflecting on Progress and Planning for the Future
As we wrap up our Tudo Djunto efforts, we can’t help but reflect on the tremendous impact this initiative has had on our community. The journey that started with an intention to resolve years of trauma and bad feelings between families has blossomed into an inspiring movement for peace and reconciliation. Through our public events, we have witnessed deep-rooted pain being addressed head-on, allowing individuals and entire families to find healing.
Tudo Djunto gave us the space to come together as a community, laying bare the wounds of the past while building a future rooted in peace. It was a momentous occasion, as we publicly aired grievances, shared stories, and committed to healing. We now stand at the dawn of a new era—a peace plan on the rise, one that will carry our community forward together.
Looking Ahead: Breaking Bread and Planning the Next Chapter
While the stage served as a platform for powerful dialogue, our next steps will take place around a table, where we will meet not to speak publicly, but to break bread and plan for the future. This time, the focus will be on long-term collaboration and creating actionable steps for lasting peace.
On the horizon is an upcoming gathering at the Heal the Hood Headquarters in Jamaica Plain. This meeting will bring together community leaders and change-makers, all of whom share a commitment to a peaceful future. Joining us are influential leaders from a variety of organizations that, much like Tudo Djunto, believe in the power of unity and collective action:
Supreme from The Responsible Party
Jackie Fonseca from The Harriet Tubman Project
Joseph "Toot" Bennett from Yard Time
Derrell "Slim" Weathers from Heal the Hood
Amilton Dosouto (Bumbya), author of I Am Junior
Stephen Pina from Never Not Working
Mario Rodrigues from My Brother’s Keeper
Luis Castillo from Boston Public Schools
Minister Randy Muhammad
Together, we will continue the work of Tudo Djunto, cultivating a community where we look out for one another, lifting each other up in times of need, and working towards a sustainable peace. Our meeting will focus on tangible ways to build upon the progress we’ve made, ensuring that our community thrives not only in the present but for generations to come.
The Road to Peace and Unity
This journey is far from over. As we break bread, we will also be building the blueprint for a peaceful future—one where all voices are heard, all traumas are acknowledged, and all communities are united in their commitment to collective care. We want to foster a space where, together, we create the future we deserve.
We’re grateful to all the agencies, leaders, and community members who have stood by us in this mission. Tudo Djunto may be wrapping up its current phase, but the spirit of unity, peace, and collective action will continue to guide us forward. We are open to welcoming anyone who stands for peace to work with us, together we achieve more.
Stay tuned for more updates on the outcomes of this crucial meeting and the next steps we will take as we grow stronger, together.
